PROFACTOR Profactor was founded in 1995 as a 100-percent subsidiary of the Vereinigung zur Förderung der Modernisierung der Produktionstechnologie in Österreich (Society for the Promotion of Modernisation of Manufacturing Technologies in Austria) (VPTÖ). The staff of seven scientists has since grown to over 100 in 2007. PROFACTOR is as a non-profit company for manufacturing research and has been heavily involved in European and National research projects (e.g. the following ICT related projects: FLOCI-EE, Agentcities.NET, Agentlink, MaBE, CrossWork, SUDDEN, SENSE, OntoNet).

GeorgWeichhart: George received his Master in Business Informatics from University of Vienna in 1998. He has gained experiences as a software engineer at Fabasoft, an Austrian eGOV and eCRM company. Since 2001 he is member of the Multi Agent Systems Group at Profactor. He has been involved in a number of ICT related research Projects. In these projects he has taken roles as project manager, software architect and engineer, and researcher. He is member of the IFAC TC5.3 Enterprise Integration and the IFIP TC on Enterprise Integration. He is currently focusing on intelligent systems that bridge the gap between autonomous software agents and end-users in the domain of business collaboration, integration and coordination.
